HCMC & Mekong Tours    (Sort by: Alphabet  Price)

Nestled in the delta formed by the Mekong River, Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is the economic capital of Vietnam and is its largest metropolis. Saigon was renamed Ho Chi Minh City in honor the Communist leader Ho Chi Minh who successfully led the nation against both France and the USA.
The city is still referred to as Saigon by the locals. This modern bustling city has also retained its French colonial influences. There are many examples of French colonial architecture like official buildings, villas and boulevards which convey this fact.

This densely populated city is pulsating with life. The streets run amok with mopeds and scooters, often carrying entire families. The colorful markets are a charming chaos. And the sidewalks are full of vendors hawking their wares which could be anything from pirated DVDs to fruits and street snacks.

Ho Chi Minh City's sheer number of tourist attractions is sure to befuddle any sane tourist.

The exquisite Emperor of Jade Pagoda with its elaborate woodcarvings decorated with gilded characters and sculptures depicting local deities, is a must-see.

The fun of watching people bargain is best enjoyed in the markets of Cholon, the ancient Chinese locality.

The towers of Notre Dame Cathedral is an impressive example of French architecture which harks back to the colonial era

The War Remnants Museum bears witness to the atrocities committees on the Viet people during the Vietnam War. The Re-Unification Hall and the former US Embassy too are interesting tourist attractions.

A rather fascinating tourist spot is the Cu Chi Tunnels which is located a little further away from main Ho Chi Minh City. This is where South Vietnamese Communists took refuge while they launched guerrilla attacks on US soldiers.
